The first time I saw someone eating this and heard the ingredients I thought, quite honestly, “totally confirmed, you’re CRAZY!” And then I saw the recipe somewhere else and my curiosity got the better of me. After numerous really wonderful attempts at the perfect recipe I finally stumbled upon my inspiration for THIS perfection. There is a bakery (Bubby Rose’s) by my house and they have this completely diabolical cookie – it’s called the ‘Beezlebubby’ and it’s got every ingredient I consider necessary for a nearly inappropriate experience with chocolate. This recipe is the marriage of all the aforementioned pieces and my new (and possibly eternally) favorite treat.

Ingredients

2 Avocados

¼ Cup Cocoa Powder

4 Tbsp Maple Syrup (more to taste)

½ Tsp Cayenne Pepper

2 Tsp Ginger Powder

2 Tsp Cinnamon

Rock Salt (for garnish)

(4 Servings)

Procedure

Put all the ingredients (except the Rock Salt) and start the processor. Blend, stopping occasionally to scrape the sides, until smooth and creamy. If the consistency is a bit thick, add some cold water and continue processing until a mousse of your expectations is reached.

Put a dollop in a small nice dish and finish with a pinch of Rock Salt.

Presentation is key here as it is way too easy to eat this straight out of the bowl and eat it ALL. Rest assured that this mousse is far better for you than typical puddings; it is chock full of healthy fat from the avocado and scant on processed sugars etc. The spicy cayenne and ginger are warming like a hug which, lets be honest, is sometimes what we’re looking for when we’re on the hunt for chocolate!

You could also use this mousse as a decadent filling in a layer cake or as frosting on Brownies or Cupcakes.
